Orthotics for Leg Length Difference

Common symptoms include:

  • Localized hip pain is typically present on longer limbed side.
  • Longer limbed leg typically has a flatter arch (which leads to a longer foot).
  • Typically occurs from lower limb surgery or neurological conditions.
  • Imbalance can sometimes be noted from spinal curvature.

If these conditions sound familiar, book your appointment today and let us help you get back on your feet pain free!

Custom Orthotics Designed for Leg Length Discrepancy:

  • Full length lift - applied to the shorter limb to balance offset.
  • Heel padding - to reduce the effect of impact forces at the joints of the toes and up to the hip region.
  • Customized arch support - dissipates pressure throughout the foot and knee.
    • A greater arch support will be applied to the longer leg, as the longer limb will typically have a lower arch - as a natural way of shortening the leg to compensate for the discrepancy.
  • Neutral casting - to align your feet and lower limbs in order to place them in the most optimal position for gait.
  • Poron top-cover - to absorb shock up the leg, while wicking away sweat and bacteria.
