What is Dry Needling Acupuncture?

Dry Needling Acupuncture treatments involve the insertion of fine, sterile needles into specific sites (acupuncture points) along the body meridians (detailed lines mapped along the human body) to clear blockages and encourage the normal function of the individual. It is a complementary medical practice that entails stimulating certain points on the body, most often with a needle penetrating the skin, to alleviate pain or to help treat various health conditions.

Does Acupuncture Really Work?

Acupuncture has been shown to be effective for the following:

  • Adverse reactions to radiotherapy and/or chemotherapy
  • Decrease nausea/morning sickness
  • Facial pain
  • Headache
  • Low back pain
  • Knee pain
  • Sciatica
  • Tennis elbow
  • Increased energy
  • Improved mood
  • Postoperative pain
  • Improved body function

Needles are left in place for 15 to 30 minutes during which time the practitioner may manipulate the needles in order to strengthen or reduce the flow of Qi.
