Absolutely nothing! There is no obligation to move forward with the orthotics after your appointment and all the insurance documentation required (including a prescription) will be prepped and assisted with by our staff while your orthotics are being manufactured. If your insurance company allows for direct billing for orthotics we will be able to do this on your behalf.
How Our Custom Orthotics Are Made
All of our orthotics are made in-house. This gives us complete control of how we design our orthotics and allows us to create a top-quality product for our patients, We offer 2 methods of custom orthotic fabrication. CAD CAM milled (computer generated) orthotics & handcrafted. Depending on your condition, our Certified Pedorthists will advise you on which custom orthotic fabrication is most suitable for your condition.
CAD-CAM Milled Custom Orthotics
Here's an overview of the CAD process:
3-Dimensional Scan: This digital scan captures the unique contours and measurements of the feet.
Computer-Aided Design (CAD): The design can be customized to address specific foot issues, such as arch support, cushioning, or corrections for conditions like flat feet or overpronation.
Computer-Aided Manufacturing (CAM): The CAD design is then transferred to a milling machine. This machine precisely carves the orthotic shape out of selected material, often high-quality density layered foam (EVA), or other supportive materials.
Quality Control: After milling, the custom orthotic is carefully inspected for quality and accuracy to ensure that it matches the original digital design.
Fitting and Adjustment: Finally, the custom orthotic is fitted into the patient's shoes. Any necessary adjustments can be made to ensure a comfortable and supportive fit.
Custom orthotics are tailored especially to your feet, whereas generic inserts are mass-produced for every average shoe size. Because every foot is unique, generic inserts can actually cause more harm than good. Instead, by having your insert custom-made, your foot is supported in every contour and problem area.

Relieve pressure and pain: Custom-made orthotic insoles are often used primarily for relieving foot pain by distributing the pressure in the right areas.
Correct foot structure: If high or flat feet custom orthotics can correct the underlying cause for increased comfort.
Improve body alignment: Your feet aren't the only part of your body that benefits from orthotic inserts — your ankles, knees and back all depend on your feet for proper gait. Foot pain can cause your body to shift to overcompensate for walking on the affected area.

If you do decide to go ahead with custom orthotics and do have benefits, the vast majority of insurance companies will cover the main sum – if not all of the cost. To find your coverage, simply call your provider and they will inform you what your coverage is.
Upon confirmation of your insurance coverage we will direct bill (if benefits allow for it) or wile will provide you with all the documentation needed to submit to your insurance company for approval.
How Do I Submit Orthotics to Extended Healthcare?

How is it made?
After having an assessment at MyoDynamic, if necessary, we will take a casting of your feet. We then heat mold and vacuum press the orthotic materials we decide on to your specific cast. This means that the custom orthotic will only fit you, making it unique to your foot structure and condition. Once pressed, we add customized modifications to align and offload your joints and get you walking in the most ideal, healthy position. Here at MyoDynamic we have our own onsite lab - allowing for a quick turnaround time and easy adjustments/modifications to the orthotics at no charge to ensure customer satisfaction.
What if I am not satisfied with my orthotics?
By having our own onsite lab, we can easily make modifications to your orthotics. We guarantee our product for 2 full years. So if there are any issues between the time you purchase them, bring them back to our clinic for a free modification. We won't let you leave until you're happy!
What is the average break-in time for wearing my custom orthotics?
We suggest after the day of purchase to wear them 1 hour the first day, 2 hours the second day and slowly progress in the amount of time you wear the custom orthotics throughout the week. After 2 weeks there should be no discomfort in wearing the orthotics.
What should I bring in for my assessment?
All we need is:
1. The shoes that you wear on a typical basis. 2. A prescription from a doctor (not mandatory for original assessment, but will be needed for insurance company coverage and dispense of custom orthotics). 3. Shorts or leggings so we can easily perform a gait analysis.
Please note, as a Certified Pedorthist we are able to fill out your prescription, although we are not able to sign off on it. Therefore, you must have your family physician or any other medical doctor sign it.
Who does my assessment at MyoDynamic?
Here at MyoDynamic Health, we have Certified Pedorthist that will conduct a full biomechanical and gait analysis during your assessment.
