Off-Ice Hockey Performance & Dryland Training in Barrie

In partnership with The Skating Treadmill Inc., our Off-Ice Hockey Performance program is a collaborative training program delivered across two specialized facilities, combining elite dryland training with advanced skating analysis for complete hockey development.

Our Off-Ice Hockey Performance program is a high-level dryland training program in Barrie designed to help hockey players improve strength, speed, and durability that directly carries over to on-ice performance. This program focuses on developing the physical qualities hockey players need to skate faster, move more efficiently, and compete with confidence throughout the season.

By integrating structured off-ice performance training with skating-specific insights from The Skating Treadmill Inc., athletes receive a comprehensive development experience that bridges the gap between gym training and on-ice execution.

Dryland Hockey Training Built for Explosive Power and Endurance

This off-ice hockey training program emphasizes explosive power, cardiovascular endurance, and core strength using structured, hockey-specific movements. Sessions combine functional strength training, plyometrics, agility work, and conditioning to improve acceleration, balance, and total-body control.

Athletes are coached through each exercise with close attention to proper movement mechanics, posture, and spinal stability, ensuring movements are efficient, safe, and effective for long-term performance development.

Improve Strength, Mobility, and Injury Resilience

Our practitioner guides athletes through intentional, sport-specific movement patterns designed to build strength while improving mobility, coordination, and joint stability. Training targets common problem areas for hockey players, including the hips, core, knees, and shoulders, helping to correct movement imbalances and reduce the risk of common overuse and non-contact injuries.

This approach supports both short-term performance gains and long-term athletic durability on and off the ice.

Advanced Off-Ice Training for Competitive Hockey Players

This advanced dryland hockey training in Barrie is ideal for athletes looking to take their performance to the next level. Sessions focus on strength, coordination, balance, and full-range control, allowing athletes to maintain power and stability under speed and fatigue.

Major muscle groups are trained for power, endurance, and stability, while improving body awareness and proprioception that carries over directly to skating mechanics, puck control, shooting power, and physical play.

Performance Training That Transfers to the Ice

Whether training in-season or during the off-season, our off-ice hockey performance program in Barrie provides a structured, performance-driven environment designed to build stronger, faster, and more resilient hockey players. By improving movement efficiency, control, and power off the ice, athletes gain measurable performance benefits where it matters most—on the ice.

MyoDynamic Health Hockey Performance Program Launch

We’re excited to announce the launch of MyoDynamic Health’s Hockey Performance Program, designed for hockey players looking to elevate their skills through dryland training and The Skating Treadmill Inc.

Our dryland training program focuses on building:

  • Explosive strength & endurance
  • Core stability & control
  • Injury prevention through sport-specific movement patterns

Training sessions incorporate plyometric exercises, functional strength, and coordinated movement to help athletes transfer power efficiently onto the ice while improving overall performance and resilience.

We’ve partnered with The Skating Treadmill Inc to enhance this program. Athletes will complete one Team Development Session at The Skating Treadmill Inc Facility, allowing us to closely analyze stride mechanics in real time.

These programs are run by registered therapists who assist in the development of explosive power & strength classes. Athletes learn how to improve stride efficiency and strengthen the specific muscle groups that contribute to more powerful and effective skating.

For drop-in athletes, we offer 1 complimentary skating treadmill session or RapidShot session after purchasing a 5-pack training session at MyoDynamic Health.

RapidShot training teaches:

  • Body positioning when receiving a pass (at varying speeds)
  • Shooting mechanics and release efficiency

Performance data is tracked for each athlete, allowing measurement of progress and clear performance goals over time.

While explosive power and endurance are essential, recovery and mobility are equally important. Optional sessions with our Certified Yoga Therapist focus on mobility, core strength, and movement quality to support long-term performance and injury prevention.

Recommended program length is 10 weeks to fully develop athletes, monitor progress, and set individualized goals. Drop-ins, team bookings, and customizable training options are also available.

If you’re interested in learning more or reserving a spot, we’d be happy to connect and discuss the best fit for your athlete or team. We look forward to helping players train smarter, move better, and perform at their best.
