Tara Leeming
PTRegistered Physiotherapist
Tara Leeming grew up in the Penetanguishene/Midland area and completed her Honours Bachelor of Science in 2017 at the University of Toronto. She went on to complete her Masters of Science in Physiotherapy in 2020 at the University of Toronto. Since completing her university education, she has taken Level 1 Manual Therapy and Acupuncture AA1 courses. She is interested in pursuing pelvic health, lymphedema, burn, and further acupuncture courses in the future.
After an injury resulting from sport in university, she realized how frustrating and limiting chronic injuries can be. She enjoyed working with others to improve her quality of life again, and went into Physiotherapy as a result. Tara particularly enjoys working with patients with musculoskeletal and post-surgical restrictions, and appreciates how physio treats the patient as a whole. She focuses on exercise, activity modifications, and education to tailor patient’s rehabilitation needs to them. Her goal is that the patient feels heard, and that they have enough time to fully explain their concerns for her to help address them.
She has experience working with children and adults with musculoskeletal conditions, adults with neurological conditions, and children in hospital with respiratory and cardiac conditions, and burns.
She has worked in Simcoe County with locals, in Nunavut with Inuit communities, and on Vancouver Island doing home and island visits.
